The Native Plant Store can Now be Found Here

  • This page will remain accessible as a library page until I have all the species moved to the new page and all the quirks worked out in the new software so it can function as a searchable library.
  • Please see the Using the Plant Library  page  for some tips on how to make the most of the information in this existing library to select species for creating a healthy native plant community suited to the conditions of your site.

Lysimachia ciliata, Fringed Loosestrife

~Not sown for 2024~

Lysimachia ciliata

Fringed Loosestrife

  • Average to high moisture soils
  • Prefers full sun but will grow in partial to full shade
  • 24” to 36” tall, spreads to form a patch
  • Summer blooming
  • Native to Ontario, thrives in high moisture areas but will spread less quickly in dryer areas

New to me this year, grown from seeds from the Ottawa Wildflower Seed Library and Prairie Moon Nursery

A very show species that can form a dense groundcover in areas with sufficient moisture. Will also grow in partially shaded areas with average or even slightly dry conditions. Pair with other vigorous species, lime Monardas, Prairie Sundrops and Obedient plant.

Please check out the Prairie Moon listing at the link above for more details.
