The Native Plant Store can Now be Found Here

  • This page will remain accessible as a library page until I have all the species moved to the new page and all the quirks worked out in the new software so it can function as a searchable library.
  • Please see the Using the Plant Library  page  for some tips on how to make the most of the information in this existing library to select species for creating a healthy native plant community suited to the conditions of your site.

Dalea purpurea, Purple Prairie Clover

Dalea purpurea

Purple Prairie Clover

  • Average to dry soils
  • Full Sun to Light Shade
  • 24” tall, 18” to 24” wide
  • Late Summer Blooms
  • Ontario Native, Thriving in Meadow and Dry Meadow ecosystems, Nitrogen Fixing

New to me, grown from seeds from Prairie Moon Nursery https://www.prairiemoon.com/dalea-purpurea-purple-prairie-clover-prairie-moon-nursery.html

Reportedly a super food for the endangered Rusty Patched Bumblebee, this native legume is popular with pollinators in general.

Please check out the Prairie Moon listing at the link above for more details.
