Coreopsis tripteris, Tall Tickseed

Coreopsis tripteris

Tall Tickseed

  • Average to slightly dry or slightly wet soils
  • Full sun to light shade (will lean toward the sun)
  • 7’ to 9’ tall, 3’ to 4’ spread
  • Late Summer to Fall Blooming
  • Native to Ontario, Meadow, open woodland and high moisture (but not flooded) ecosystems

New to me this year, grown from seeds from the Ottawa Wildflower Seed Library and Prairie Moon Nursery https://www.prairiemoon.com/coreopsis-tripteris-tall-coreopsis-prairie-moon-nursery.html

A very tall, late summer blooming species, quite unlike Lance-leaved Coreopsis in size form. Reported to be inclined to spread, these might best be paired with other competitive or large species, like Monarda fistulosa, Joe-Pye-weed, Ironweed and Wingstem.

Please check out the Prairie Moon listing at the link above for more details.
