The Native Plant Store can Now be Found Here

  • This page will remain accessible as a library page until I have all the species moved to the new page and all the quirks worked out in the new software so it can function as a searchable library.
  • Please see the Using the Plant Library  page  for some tips on how to make the most of the information in this existing library to select species for creating a healthy native plant community suited to the conditions of your site.

Penthorum sedoides, Ditch Stonecrop

Penthorum sedoides

Ditch Stonecrop

  • Average to high moisture soils
  • Full sun to partial shade
  • 24” tall, 12” to 18” wide
  • Mid summer to mid fall blooms and seed heads
  • Native to Ontario, thrives in high moisture areas

New to me this year, grown from seeds from Prairie Moon Nursery

A showy species that I’ve been told adapts well to garden conditions.

Recommended in Lorraine Johnson’s blog post Ghost Plants about hard to source species deserving of wider planting in Ontario gardens

Please check out the Prairie Moon listing at the link above for more details.
