The Native Plant Store can Now be Found Here

  • This page will remain accessible as a library page until I have all the species moved to the new page and all the quirks worked out in the new software so it can function as a searchable library.
  • Please see the Using the Plant Library  page  for some tips on how to make the most of the information in this existing library to select species for creating a healthy native plant community suited to the conditions of your site.

Elymus canadensis

Canada Wild Rye

  • Moderately wet to very dry soils
  • Full Sun to partial shade
  • Up to 5’ tall, 18” to 36” spacing -Taller in wet settings, shorter in dry ones

  • Thrives in Meadow and Dry Meadow Ecosystems

Still new to my gardens, grown from seeds sourced from Prairie Moon Nursery.

An early succession species, these 5' tall grasses mature quickly and will fade afer a few years. A species to consider including in new plantings while slower growing species are maturing.

Please check out the Prairie Moon listing at the link above for more details.
