Desmodium canadense, Showy Tick Trefoil

Desmodium canadense

Showy Tick Trefoil

  • Average to slightly wet or slightly dry soils
  • Full Sun to Light Shade
  • 3’ to 5’ tall, 12” to 18” wide
  • Summer Blooms
  • Ontario Native, Thriving in Meadow and Dry Meadow ecosystems, Nitrogen Fixing

New to me, grown from seeds from Prairie Moon Nursery https://www.prairiemoon.com/desmodium-canadense-showy-tick-trefoil-prairie-moon-nursery.html

This is a showy species with a tall, narrow form that can be weighed down by the full head of flowers. At their best when planted in a group and/or among tall neighbours who can offer them a bit of support.

Please check out the Prairie Moon listing at the link above for more details.
