The Plant store is now closed for orders.

  • I'm planning on one last round of sales toward the end of September of plants that I'll be potting up from a nursery bed I planted in the fall of 2022. I'll post the details and the time once I have the plants ready to go
  • Please see the Using the Plant Library  page  for some tips on how to make the most of the information here to select species for creating a healthy native plant community suited to the conditions of your site.
  • Please see the Plant Nursery for a photo of the different sizes/prices on offer and for information on the sizing of these seedlings and the details of the sale
  • Species that were not seeded, didn’t germinate or that are sold out are marked with an asterisk *

* Allium stellatum, Prairie Onion

Allium stellatum

Prairie Onion

  • Average to dry soils
  • Full sun to Light Shade
  • 14” tall, 4” to 8” wide
  • Mid to Late Summer Blooms
  • Ontario Native, Thrives Meadow and Dry Meadow Ecosystems

Still new to my gardend, grown from seeds sourced from Prairie Moon Nursery.

For hot, sunny sites on the dry side. These are entirely unbothered by drought but don’t handle competition from taller species well.

Like most, if not all, alliums, their foliage is edible while also being unappealing to most wildlife.

Grows to around 14” in height and blooms in mid summer.

Please check out the Prairie Moon listing at the link above for more details.
